Graeme Lawson BSc Physiotherapy (HONS) MPNZ, MSPNZ, MCSP
I received my degree in Physiotherapy back in 2006 from Sheffield Hallam University in the UK. From early on I developed an interest in biomechanics and a holistic approach to movement dysfunction as physio for the England Junior and U-23 Volleyball team and as a physiotherapist working for the NHS. Moving to New Zealand in 2009, I worked primarily in Auckland treating a range of patients with home and work related injuries to fledgling athletes in various sports. My patients see exceptional results from a progressive blend of hands on manual therapy, education and exercise prescription.
My skill set and approach will be able to help you in a number of ways. From those with acute injuries to those with more persistent chronic pains and sports people that are interested in enhancing their performance. Mainly using exercise, manual therapy, dry needling and various other treatment options. Providing you with knowledge to understand your injury, how to treat it and how to prevent it in the future.
I’ve played basketball at various levels for 25 years in the UK and NZ at a national level. 3 years ago I took up CrossFit and have seen personal gains in my movement and strength. Physiotherapist’s are trained in assessing biomechanics and movement patterns. Working with CrossFit athletes as a Physio is extremely satisfying when I’m able to help correct abnormal movement or improve mobility and essentially help get the best results out of your training.
